INSPIRING LEADERS TO BRING OUT THE BEST IN OTHERS
Meet Jill Tomac, Founder of the Leadership Resource Group
Jill is a coach, consultant, facilitator and keynote speaker for leaders looking to create a productive, focused, and engaging work environment. Using her depth of experience coupled with her practical approach, Jill has inspired leaders to transform the way they communicate, strategize, and engage with their teams.
Prior to starting the Leadership Resource Group, Jill was the Employee Development Director at Pacific Life, where she designed and implemented a strategic Employee Development Plan for a start-up Division within the Pacific Life family of Companies that grew by 200% over a two-year period. Her legacy was to establish a “coaching culture” – putting employee growth and engagement first.
Determined to guide as many leaders as possible to build collaborative, engaging, employee-focused cultures, Jill founded the Leadership Resource Group in 2001. Flashback to 1991, Jill had her first experience leading a team. She quickly discovered that the theory in education was distinctively different than the reality of the experience. As she entered her leadership position with great enthusiasm and all the best intentions, she quickly discovered that she did not possess the essential skills necessary to confront difficult performance issues. This lack of practical knowledge became a pivotal turning point and the inspiration for Jill’s work. She has since spent the past 25 years honing her own leadership abilities and vigorously sharing her insight with others.
Jill’s clients represent the changing leadership styles being embraced by corporate America’s management teams and include:
Taco Bell • Nabisco • Broadcom • Nevada Imaging Centers • State Street Financial • Pacific Life Insurance • Kinder Morgan • Epicor Software • Pacific Dental • Metropolitan Water District • Western Youth Services • The City of Goodyear, AZ Fire and Police Departments • The County of San Diego • Young Dairy Leaders Institute • Irvine Public Schools Foundation • BAX Global
Jill has earned a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Santa Monica as well as a Master’s in Education-Instructional Design from Arizona State University. She achieved her Bachelor in Arts from The Ohio State University. She is trained in advanced coaching techniques and certified in the interpretation and facilitation of personal assessment instruments including Management Research Group (MRG) Leadership Effectiveness Analysis and Strategic Directions. She is also certified to administer and facilitate BCON LIFO Leadership and Behavioral Style assessments.
Jill’s work has been highlighted in the Orange County Business Journal in which she was nominated for the 2015 Women In Business Award. She is also featured in the book, Coaching for the New Century and is a member of Maria Shriver’s M Team in which she is a contributing author to MariaShriver.com, sharing ideas and stories that open others up to new possibilities and ways of thinking.
As a way to give back to the community, Jill is a Board Chair for Youth Employment Service (YES), a non-profit organization enabling Orange County youth and young adults to secure and maintain meaningful employment. YES offers programs that help young people improve their self-esteem, employability, career choices, financial/personal self-sufficiency, and quality of life.
Accomplishments aside, Jill is most inspired by guiding others to step fully into their power, positively influencing people and situations.
